Experimental and Numerical Studies on Repaired Wooden Beam of Traditional Buildings in Huizhou Region, China

In this study, three different repair methods are proposed for the common broken parts of traditional wooden beams. Four beams without initial damage and six repaired in a planar frame tested numerical simulated. The test phenomena, bearing capacity, stiffness all analyzed. Compared with damage, capacity upper inlay repair, core partial tenon lower increases by 38.93%, 13.06%, 5.08%, 3.94%, respectively. Furthermore, experimental results indicate that beam can be more effectively methods, When is partially damaged, mechanical properties improved after repair. simulation shows inversely proportional to height distance between position span. Based on results, dovetail form proposed, it numerically verified method reduce stress concentration.
